12 600 new companies in Czech Republic

According to the database of the Czech Capital Information Agency CEKIA, a total of 12,644 new companies were founded in the Czech Republic in the first half of this year. Nearly one half of them were founded in Prague. The number of newly established companies increased 10% y/y. More than 60% of newly founded companies are active in the field of wholesale, real estates, services, and construction.

According to Petra Stepanova, an analyst with CEKIA, the demand for business in the Czech Republic is related to the recovery of the Czech economy and a rather high unemployment, when unemployed people started to establish their own companies.
